Scrapbook Journaling

Journaling is documenting photos by either handwriting or lettering names, dates, and events(the who, what, where, when and why) on the background paper. The writing on a page will help explain the subject or even more clearly. Writing personal feeling and captions about the subject gives pages added value and interest. Include family stories, poems, and songs that correspond with the photos. A child's first words or favorite phrase enhances priceless photos.
Lettering is a creative way of decorating and accenting pages. The text becomes an element of the page design, drawing attention to the words as well as the photos. There are unlimited styles to choose from and craft stores have books available to give you ideas. Experiment on scratch paper and come up with your own unique style. Write your title or lettering in the desired style on the page first in pencil, then go over the pencil with a pen or marker.
Adhesive lettering is another way to create a unique message for your pages. Different styles can be mixed and matched to produce a truly personalized message or title.

A couple of books that I like to use that have different styles of writing are:

The ABC's of creative lettering by Linday Ostrom
LMNOP more creative lettering by Lindsay Ostrom
XYZ, still more creative lettering by Lindsay Ostrom
123's of Creative Doodling also by Lindsay Ostrom

What can I say I like Lindsay Ostrom's books.
